Studio Update 3/19

As a county, we are taking the next logical steps (after closing schools, restaurants, and bars) which is to close other businesses that attract more than 10 people and often place folks within 6 feet of each other.  Today Buncombe Co. officials declared that all gyms, fitness centers, exercise facilities, spas, pools, theaters, and arcades are to close temporarily.  We closed our studio at 5pm today.

We plan to keep moving outside, and of course we hope to see you out there (6+ feet away)!  Please contact us with any questions or concerns.  Also, we are offering Virtual Training during this time to continue consistent, safe, and effective training.  Please let us know if you are interested. Thank you for all your support and flexibility during this time.

Stay well and stay safe,

Kevin and the Plank Team

Studio Updates 3/16:

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

We are converting many training plans to online/virtual training sessions…continued consistency, professional programming and accountability. If you are interested, please let us know!

Our studio is open for private and semi-private training sessions, neuromuscular therapy, and physical therapy, but with new precautions in place:

-No events until June (at least)
-Scheduling such that we maintain a low level of attendance at any given time (goal of under 10, and so far actually under 6, easily allowing for 6+ feet between people)
-Extra cleaning/disinfecting in between clients
-Diffusing anti-viral essential oil blends on both floors

We will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves.

Coronavirus & Our Studio

Posted by: Kevin Martin on Comments Off on Coronavirus & Our Studio

You have undoubtedly been hearing about the Coronavirus.  We wanted to let you know we have always taken great pride in having a clean, healthy facility.  Here are some of the ways we promote an antimicrobial environment at Plank:

  • We use hospital-grade green cleaners on the equipment after every client.
  • We use 7th Generation disinfecting wipes on the contact surfaces and bathrooms several times a day.
  • We have alcohol based sanitizers up and downstairs for you and our staff to use.
  • We run diffusers with anti-bacterial and anti-viral essential oils to purify the air.
  • We do a weekly deep cleaning of Plank.
  • Whenever possible, we open the doors to let in plenty of fresh air.
  • Unlike large facilities, we have smaller numbers of clients at a time, so you are never exposed to a large group.

The CDC and WHO recommend that we stay home if we have a dry cough and fever, and cover our mouths with a tissue or arms when coughing or sneezing.  We ask that everyone continue to be diligent about this right now

An abundance of evidence shows that a healthy lifestyle, especially nutrition and exercise, boosts the immune system and helps prevent illness.  We want to encourage you to continue to pursue these. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about any of this.

Dedicated to your health,

Kevin & the Plank Team
